Connie and I went with our friends Jamie and Lehi to hike Orderville Canyon. It is a 10 mile slot canyon with multiple small waterfalls to descend and lots of walking in the water. It was awesome.
Normally to do the whole canyon you have to have two cars. You drop one off at the bottom and drive one to the top. We only had one car and so were going to try to find someone else doing the hike who we could work out a shuttle with. While I was getting the backcountry permit, I met a guy named Robert Hansen who was getting a permit for a hike the next day and who offered to give us a ride. He went totally out of his way driving us for an hour and over some tough dirt roads to get us to the top. It was one of the nicest things a stranger has every done for me. He acted like it was no big deal said he had the day off anyway. If you are ever in St. George and need some body work done on your car, go to Hansen's Body Shop and give that good man your business.
We also ran into some BYU students. One of them broke their ankle and we were able to help them to down the canyon using our ropes. They were amazing, the carried her out of the canyon throw many waterfalls and obstacles and kept up with us even though we were just carrying ourselves
